Enough of my rant, stable power and abundant capacity are crucial for video cards, and computing in genereal. When I first bought and installed the card I never had this problem, yet I recently formatted and re-installed windows xp sp2 and thats when the problem began. Total Memory : 256 MB Texture Memory : 306 MB Processor : ATI RADEON 9600 Series AGP (0x4152) Converter : Internal DAC(400MHz) Refresh Rate (min/max) : 56/120 Hz GPU Information : Media Composer 8.6.1, ASUS P8P67 Deluxe, Intel i7 2600k, 16G DDR3-1600, PNY NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (353.82), Windows 10 Pro.

Oh, and, before disablig Smartgart, try turning FastWrites OFF in BIOS, as well as lovering AGP speed to 4x. That is why it is critical when "specing" new systems to make careful choices in regard to motherboards. I loaded up version 2.34 and the first time I ran it it worked perfectly. Also I have a AGP drive strength but when set to High it overpowers my card and slows graphics WAY down). At the moment I have two separate 4... Solved the problem by replacing the standard fan (which was pretty rubbish) with an artic cooler.

I tried to change to another radeon, but it wasn't any better, so I just changed my card to an Nvidia 5700 and it works perfectly now. I Have an ATI Radeon 9600XT and blender 2.34 work perfectly ....
