after searching many answers, yours was the only one that worked for me. To see the options one time, right-click the device or drive, and then click Open Autoplay. In the Autoplay settings screen, scroll all the way down to the bottom where you'll see options for how to handle iPhones. You should now be able to see the original menu asking to import pics.

I unplugged and plugged my phone back in, and it worked! The only thing that I can think of is that I recently had a bad case of malware which prevented windows updates and I had a lot of popups. including Itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, etc. Maybe one of my fellow geeks can help.

Anybody got any suggestions for Vista users? Please keep trying to help with any ideas. Any other way to fix this?
