AVG Scan Reporting Duron As Pentium III

I'm doing a full scan now just to be sure. If this doesn't work what is it? I'm going to do these scans tomorrow and if it didn't work , well i guess i fried my processor! It almost seems like the scan "started over" at some point, but based on the time readout (almost 13 hours), this was still part of the initial scan. two can cause issues. On this forum, there are links to clean-up tools to completely uninstall both, or there may be tools on the vendors' own websites. It would be very valuable if we could see some posts from other users reporting a general estimate of scan times, along with the basic settings used (like the "Skip files," The cpu could never burn it`s self out. Personally, I'd throw the kitchen sink at yours.

I also suspect that I don't have many files bigger than 8MB. Mine's the same. As it happens I have a fairly fresh installation of Win XP Pro SP2 - not much installed on it yet at all! You should have enough "larger-than-8MB" files such that it makes a more obvious difference.

Some of the executables in the firewall permissions list don't appear among those in the AVG 8 folder (avgam.exe, avgnsx.exe) Firewall has no provision for 'safe' Internet addresses. I think my CPU has burnt or taken damage because of overheating... Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. Unfortunately that means buying a new cpu unless you want to keep it at 1 ghz.

I have 3 drives. All rights reserved. I now update only on a daily basis and have set my AVG to do a complete scan when the computer is switched off, so that I have to do it Does this explain the long time?
